Q:What is the most important safety rule that you can think of in the safety contract?
A: Keep hands away from face, eyes, and mouth while using science materials or when working with either chemicals or animals. Wash your hands with soap and water before leaving the science room.
Q: Why is it important?
A: This rule is important because if you have been working with chemicals, you may still have traces of them on your hands and the chemicals could be harmful to your skin or eyes.
Q:What would happen if the rule isn't followed?
A: If this rule is ignored it could be extremely bad for you or others. During an experiment with chemicals try to prevent brushing you skin or eyes for the chemicals could irritate both and become fairly painful to you.
Q:What rule is the most useless?:
A:None of the rules on the safety contract can be considered useless because they all play a part in helping you be more careful in the science lab, but if I had to choose one it would be the one to wash your hands afterward.
Q:Describe a situation where the most useless rule would apply.
A:Alright, there's a boy named Rick in the Science lab and he's sitting there, minding his own business, doing his own project with chemicals and what not. BUT Rick just ate a sandwich, and he has some peanut butter left on his fingers, so as he begins to empty the chemicals into another beaker, a stream of it falls onto his peanut butter fingers. His fingers begin to burn and get red, Rick is getting a rash and now, Rick is sent to the Emergency Room. Poor Rick didn't follow the directions, did he?

Week 3 Post
This week, I want you to watch the video below and then tell me what you think are the most important parts of Earth Science. Why do you think it is important to study the Earth and the things that go on here? What can you do to make sure you can make good decisions about the Earth today and when you are an adult?
A1: If we study the Earth there is a bigger possibility that we will be able to protect ourselves and others better. For example, studying the Earth's progress and how it is changing could help us predict the possibility of an earthquake, hurricane or any other natural disaster that could cause extreme damage. Through animations the people that are studying the Earth could see in how much approximate time the next earthquake or hurricane would occur.
A2: Making good decisions to help the Earth is always the best thing to do, especially if we want to help the future generation of humans. The way we are living in the world right now, isn't exactly a rain of sunshine, and we need to work on that as much as we can. When we are adults the things we ignored or did today will either come back to bite us in the butt or help u.s Hopefully, to help us. If we do good things for the Earth TODAY like planting gardens and recycling, the Earth will definitely be MUCH better than today, and the future generations will be able to live happily. As long as they keep the cycle going.
